Installation & Registration

How to install the AssetMatics plugin device?

Installation of the device is very easy. You just have to plug the device in your car into the OBD port. A detailed installation guide is provided on the website, kindly refer to the installation process.

How to register in the AssetMatics mobile application?

To register for the first time with the AssetMatics application, download the app from the Play Store or AppStore accordingly and click here to see the further steps.

Is my car’s OBD port compatible with your device?

Features

How to add a User profile?

Click on the Settings icon in the app > click on the Users option in the Account section >Add a profile picture, name, email address and save.

How to add a Vehicle profile?

Go to the settings option in the app > click on the Vehicles option in the Account section > Add Vehicle name and number to set the vehicle profile.

How to enable Push notifications?

Go to the settings option in the app > click on the Push Notifications in the Alert section > It is advisable to click on the Enable all option to get all the alerts and notifications.

 

What is the Score given in the AssetMatics application?
The score given in the application is the driver score, it is deducted based on your driving habits.
Why is my Driver Score reducing?

The driver score is reset to 100 points beginning of every month. Based on the driving habits the points are reduced from the base score. The deductions are as below:

  • 1 point deducted for every harsh alert  (braking, acceleration and cornering) 
    • Braking threshold set at 16km/h 
    • Acceleration threshold set at 12km/h
    • Cornering threshold set at 10km/h
  • 2 points deducted for every overspeeding alert 
    • Overspeed threshold set at at 80 km/h
What is Trip History?
The trip history feature of the AssetMatics application allows you to see the travel history of all the routes on the map taken on selected previous dates.
What is Trip Summary?
The trip summary feature of the AssetMatics application shows the summary of your trips on a selected date with details like the number of trips, alerts and distance travelled.
What are Places?

The places settings on the application allow you to set virtual boundaries for your vehicle and get alerts when your vehicle enters or exits the designated area.

How to set Places in the AssetMatics application?

Go to settings in the app, click on the Places option in the Alert section.

Click on Add a new place. Enter place name and address, adjust the radius accordingly up to 500 meters.

What does the First & Last icon mean?
On clicking the first & last icon shown on the history page you can see the start location and end location of your whole day’s trip.
How many languages is the application available in?
AssetMatics application is available in multiple languages. In the settings option, under the languages sections, you can choose the languages like Arabic, English, French, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
Can I see my vehicle in real-time?

Yes. Once the AssetMatics app integration is complete, the vehicle data starts flowing into the app. You will be able to see your vehicles in near “real-time” on our maps. Due to transmission delays, there could be minor differences in GPS location between the in-vehicle device and our dashboard. The location update pins are shown every few seconds or every minute based on the user’s preference.

Can I delete a vehicle or car?
Yes. In the user profile, any car added to the application other than the admin can be deleted. Click on the cross button near the car. To remove admin you will need to delete the account.
What is Health Check?

One can see the status of the vehicle’s health by clicking the Health Check button. Know the status of battery condition, coolant temperature, ambient air temperature and emission control.

Return or Damage

What are the return policies?

The device can be returned as per the AssetMatics Return policy.
The device can be returned if the defective product was delivered to you within a period of 7 days. The product will be replaced after a confirmation call from the support team. To read more on the Return policy click here.

How to cancel my subscription?
Once purchased AssetMatics subscription cannot be cancelled. But you can share your device with a friend or family or anyone that you want.
How to return a defective device?

In case you want to return a defective product, we will analyse the cause 

  1. If the device has a hardware issue and you receive a defective product then the same will be replaced by us. 
  2. In case the device gets wet or is dropped in water then the product will not be replaced or refunded.
  3. In case there is an issue in the sim of the device then the sim will be replaced by us.

Data

Can the device stop sending data to the vehicle?
Yes, the AssetMatics hardware stops sending data once it is removed from the vehicle.
How frequently is the data sent to the platform?

Every 30 seconds during drive time and every 10 minutes when parked. Data is sent immediately on any kind of sudden movement in the vehicle.

Where is the data stored?
Data is safely and securely stored in the cloud using Amazon AWS.

Others

Do I need to charge the device?
No, you need not charge the device separately. The device is powered by a vehicle battery on a need basis.
Will the device drain my vehicle battery?
The device uses the battery of the vehicle to which it is attached. But only a negligible amount of battery is used and it will not drain your vehicle battery.
Is the data collected about my vehicle shared anywhere?

Any data collected from your device will not be shared with anyone without your consent. We value customer privacy, hence your vehicle details will be strictly confidential.

What happens if I do not renew my subscription?
In case you do not renew your subscription you will not receive any alerts or notifications.
In case my device gets stolen, can someone track my car?
Once you have installed the AssetMatics application the chances of your device getting stolen is very less as you will receive the alert at the time of device disconnect and you take immediate action. But just in case you face an unfortunate situation like that, your vehicle cannot be tracked once the device is removed, you need not worry.
In case I lose my device will you charge me for a subscription?
No, you will not be charged for a subscription, but we cannot pause or cancel the subscription. And the device is registered with a mobile number so
Is the device waterproof?
We offer the device with ingress protection (IP) ratings from IP65 to IP68.
Can I use AssetMatics in any other car, will I get data through my app?
Yes, you will get the data through the existing app with the same mobile number.
